Energy infrastructure consultation
Category: Energy

On 21st January, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) held a consultation event in Exeter to introduce the draft national policy statements for energy infrastructure. The whole energy infrastructure of the UK is to be overhauled, and these policy statements will shape what that infrastructure will look like and how it will emerge through the planning process. The policy statements are out for consultation until 22nd February.

The Energy Group of Transition Exeter, which supports the actions of the Low Carbon Exeter Project, intends to make a response to the consultation. We shall meet at the action day (9th Feb 7 pm at the Global Centre) to put further work into our response and organise ways forward. Those interested in participating should begin engaging with the material as soon as possible; you can find all the documents here: https://www.energynpsconsultation.decc.gov.uk/home/.

We will welcome any interest shown in the interim, or at any stage, please do this by contacting admin@transitionexeter.org.uk and we can go from there.

Many thanks

TE energy team
