Transition Exeter is a voluntary organisation based in Exeter. We believe the end of cheap oil and the need to cut CO2 emissions gives us a positive opportunity to rethink the way we live locally. By making positive choices about the kind of community we want to live in, we can change our world from a consumer led society to a low carbon, inclusive society. Being prepared to make these changes ourselves will help us withstand the shocks predicted ahead.
Governments and local authorities cannot be expected to achieve this alone. They need support from us, working together at street level, to identify how such changes can be made. Together we can tap into the collective genius of Exeter, find ways of living that are as enriching and connected as those we enjoy now, and embrace the limits of our lovely planet.
Transition Exeter supports ongoing work with food, energy, group psychology, economics and transport.
