TE Autumn Gathering

Date: 22 September 2009

Details:

Transition Exeter's Autumn Gathering brought around 30 people together to find out what TE is up to, to share ideas for what more could be done and most importantly of all, to share the magnificent spread of 'food to share' that people brought along.

After feasting on a real banquet of food, most of which was grown within a few miles of Exeter, we thought about the kinds of things we would like to see to make Exeter a happier, more resilient city. The ideas covered transport (a rented electric bike pool for the city), local food, (Exeter Calvados anyone?*), energy (collective buying of renewable energy systems in a street or neighbourhood), and the local economy (skills sharing database for the city). The work of the action groups was explained, with many people expressing interest in getting involved.

The evening finished with our own version of the Oscars - a prize for the food brought along with the lowest carbon footprint / food miles.

If you were there (or even if you weren’t) and have been meaning to get in touch, don't delay. The action groups or the Core Group would love to hear from you.
