Ways of Helping
Apart from dealing with the biggest challenges of our time, another great thing about Transition Exeter is that it offers you opportunities to do things that you couldn’t otherwise do. Taking part opens the door to anything from new friends, developing new skills, to securing direct benefits for you, and/or your community.
We really value any time, energy, skills or interests that you have to offer – occasionally or regularly. The more people who are part of Transition Exeter, the more we can achieve.

Quotes from people in Transition Exeter…
It’s exciting to see how just a little effort can make big changes.
For me, the main thing about Transition is the emphasis on hope. Climate change and peak oil are really big concepts, but Transition brings them down to the local scale and helps us realise that we can do something about them.
There is so much that is positive about the kinds of changes that we need to make – more locally produced, high quality food, lower energy bills, stronger communities.
I’ve gone from feeling depressed and overwhelmed by the size of the challenges we face, to having an incredible sense of purpose and optimism.
I want to feel as though I’ve made a difference.
